There are two of us. That is not modesty, it is the decision everything else hangs on.
Ski11 has no front desk, no seasonal staff and no list of thirty names you get assigned from on the morning of your lesson. There is Christian and there is me. When you book, you know in advance who will be waiting at the base station, and on day three you get the same coach you had on day one.
How we met
We met on the Anwärter course at Snowsport Austria, the first official step towards
becoming an Austrian ski instructor. One group, one syllabus, and the same argument every
evening: why does a drill click immediately for one person and not for the next, when both
heard exactly the same instruction?
Most people moved on to other things after the course. We kept arguing. Christian came from
the practical side of a classic ski school and knew how to give a frightened adult their
confidence back in two hours. I came from racing and movement analysis and wanted to know why
a body cannot execute an instruction even when the head has understood it perfectly. It took
us a while to notice we were asking the same question from two directions.
Why it became an academy
We both worked in ski schools afterwards. In my case at the Asitz in Leogang, later in the
Stubai valley and in Hintertux. What was missing there was never the ability of the people
working around us. It was continuity. A guest gets one instructor on Monday and a different
one on Wednesday, and by then nobody remembers what Monday was about. The guest goes home
happy and comes back next winter with exactly the same faults.
Ski11 is an attempt to not do that. One skier, one coach, one plan, and a written record of
what was actually worked on. That is the whole difference, and it is harder to organise than
it sounds.
Why we stayed at two
We could take on more coaches. We get applications every season. The reason we do not is uncomfortably simple: the moment a third person joins whom we have not personally worked beside for a full season, we can no longer promise that a video gets read the same way. And that reading is the only thing we actually sell. Two coaches means fewer available dates, especially in the holiday weeks. That is the cost, and we pay it on purpose.
One analysis framework
Both of us work the same system.
Same camera angles, same checkpoints, same order of corrections. The standard does not change with the name on your booking.
Real certifications
ÖSSV Landesskilehrer and PSIE Level 4.
Plus race experience and training in movement analysis. All verifiable, none of it issued by ourselves.
Six per group, maximum
Even when more would be possible.
From the seventh participant on, nobody can keep every individual in view. This limit is not a marketing number, it is the point where the method stops working.
English, German, Farsi
Coaching in your own language.
Movement is hard to learn through a translation. Someone corrected in their mother tongue understands the correction a second earlier, and on a slope that second decides.
What we are not
- Not a ski schoolWe have no office in the village, no open group courses and no childcare on the side. If you want an affordable week in a group of twelve, a local ski school is honestly the better choice.
- Not an instructor certification bodyThe official training runs through the regional instructors association. We prepare you for the exam, we do not examine you and we issue no certificates.
- Not mountain guidesHigh touring, crevasse terrain and avalanche rescue belong to a different profession. For anything beyond secured and marked routes we put you in touch with a certified mountain guide.
- Not a medical serviceWe assess movement patterns, not tissue. Acute pain goes to a doctor or physiotherapist first, and we start where the rehabilitation ends.
- Not a promise of a resultProgress depends on your fitness, the snow and your own work. We guarantee the time and the method, not the outcome.

Tyrol is the base, the rest follows the snow and the season.
Winter
Tyrol.
Stubai valley, Hintertux and the surrounding areas. Which slope depends on the snow that day.

Glaciers.
Hintertux and Stubai for the pre-season camps, as soon as there is enough snow up there.
Summer and racing
Saas-Fee and worldwide.
For race camps we follow the competition calendar, on request also outside the Alps.

Can I choose who I train with?
Yes. Just tell us your preference when you enquire and we will tell you honestly whether the date is free. If you have no preference we assign by focus: Christian for nervousness on steep terrain and the first steps off piste, me for technical analysis, carving and racing.
What does "the same framework" actually mean?
That we film you from the same two angles, check the same points in the same order and sort the corrections by the same priority. In practice: if you start with Christian in January and continue with me in March, I do not have to get to know you again. There is a record, and the vocabulary is identical.
Do you teach children?
Within a family, yes, in a group lesson with your own people. What we do not offer is childcare as a standalone service or a children's course with unfamiliar kids. Local ski schools are considerably better set up for that.
Are you looking for more coaches?
Not actively at the moment. If that changes, it will take a full season on snow with us before anyone teaches alone. That is the reason it has stayed at two so far.
Your private and group lessons cost less than many ski schools. What is the catch?
There isn't one. We have no office in the village, no front desk, no seasonal staff and we pay no booking commission. The structure a ski school has to finance simply does not exist here, and that difference ends up in the price instead of in overhead. You get five hours of coaching a day, video analysis is included and the group is capped at six. The only place we are clearly more expensive is the Premium Carving Masterclass, and something different sits behind that price: five video analyses after the course and a written plan for piste and dryland.
Which language is the coaching in?
German and English with both of us, Farsi with me. For mixed groups we agree the language beforehand so nobody misses part of the corrections.
